This is something new I just seen.

BEGIN FLASHBACK SEQUENCE:

EXT. STREET - DAY - TWENTY YEARS EARLIER (FLASHBACK)

With (FLASHBACK) at the end of every new MASTER.


Before I only use to see this.

EXT. STREET - DAY - TWENTY YEARS EARLIER ( BEGIN FLASHBACK)

END OF FLASHBACK.

Could a flashback be ten scenes long.

Both acceptable.

I would say both are perfectly acceptable. Whatever it takes to orient rather than confuse the reader.

Ten scenes long, though? Is that much backstory necessary? But, then, go see The Time Traveller's Wife.
