First short film

Hi there. I am looking for some tips. I am attempting my first short film (3 minutes) and need some direction with the story. Guidlines are it has to tell a great story, 3 minutes long, and somehow incorporate a new chevy. So far, I was thinking of using the old red chevy truck we have (1950) and my daughter (she is 3) in it, and then having it move to present day with myself and a new red chevy truck. Not sure if I start it with her in the old one playing while "dad" it working on it. Then moving to present day where she is grown up and now driving one??? I am just stuck on how to tie in a meaningful, interesting story? I am stuck, hit a wall, drawing a blank. Any tips would be great. I don't want anyone to create it for me, but some advice is very much appreciated!

How about scenes with you and the 3 year old inside the new truck, make the video really emotional and such... and then a older woman going inside the old truck, checking it out.. sitting inside and reminiscing about the past.
