Final straw with my JVC HDD cam

I'v been using my JVC for a while and ive decided its time to get myself a 3ccd cam with full manual settings aswell as automatic.

Ive seen a number on the market and researched further into a couple but i would like to hear what you guys have to say on it as i have no experience as of yet with the models im interested in.

The problem is a have about £1000 to spend but i am willing to push to £1500 if necessary, i just cant afford to spend thousands at the moment.

Your JVC, is it an Everio? I've used this camera a few times and it is by far the most useless piece of crap I've ever used. For a camcorder, the video quality is crap... My camera phone provides better quality footage!

As for using HDD cameras, I'd stay away from them. Compression and other factors usually ruin potentially great looking footage. Not that I'm a DV fanboy or anything, but it appears that DV is better quality at half the price.
