I gave up on Final Draft 7 when I discovered Celtx.

Celtx can't compare to final draft.

I used Celtx for years but recently abandoned it because it's becoming too bloated. I use FD 8 and Trelby (free, runs on windows and linux, plays well with FD)

i have fd8, and as someone who never wrote a script before until this year, i found it dead easy to use and without it id be dead... over exageration but worth it

Opinions vary. It all depends upon what you want it to do and how much you like the respective interfaces. To each his/her own.

I use Movie Magic Screenwriter myself.

However, I'd rather direct a skillfully composed story written in crayon on napkins than some mediocre drivel written in the most advanced and comprehensive software on the market, so I'm not sure why it matters.

If you're on PC or Linux, look into Trelby (trelby.org) It's free and has a very clean interface.

FD 7... loving it. Not sure if I really need the upgrade to 8, but I love 7.
