Final Cut Express & IDVD 6 DVD Pixelated...

Okay, I searched the threads & didn't find the answer to this one. My movie, with the extras used all but about 30 seconds of a 2-hr DVD. The result is that the image breaks up here and there throughout the movie (not terribly so but bad enough). There is a "compress" option but it stated that it would be something like 12 hours or so to complete. I canceled the operation because I thought I read somewhere that you couldn't export compressed files in Final Cut Express HD to IDVD 6. Did I dream this or do I have to upgrade to Studio? And is there any other solution to stop the pixelization without eliminating footage? I'm pretty sure I used proper settings for best results for burning to a DVD. I'm not at my Apple at the moment & I don't recall exact settings I used. Any help would be appreciated.
