Filter for shooting night during the day

Hey all. I have a Canon Vixia HF M40 and am looking at shooting some night scenes but because of film grain I would like if possible to shoot them during the day if possible.

Can anyone tell me what type of filter I would need for shooting this type of scene?

Or is there something I can do in the camera settings to make it looks night?

Sorry if these sound like stupid questions but I am new to the movie making scene.

Don't really know. I'm brand new to this and haven't had any contact with any other film makers. I know that the Indie scene is getting growing up in Shreveport. Of course that's another hour and half drive for me.
