Susan Sarandon, Academy Award wining actress and Scranton native Joseph Biden Jr., United States Senator (D-Delaware) and author of the Violence Against Women Act of 2000 +collaborated with local filmmakers in the production of a documentary film about domestic violence.
An Empty Place At The Table
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A fundraising film premiere for the Women’s Resource Center will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Marywood University. Doors open at 6:30p.m. More than 1,000 invitees are expected to attend this event, which benefits the WRC. A question-and-answer session with WRC staff and the filmmakers will be held immediately after the screening, followed by a reception on the campus in the Crystal Room in Nazareth Hall at 8:30pm.
Tickets are on sale at the Adelphia Store in the Mall at Steamtown. Single seat admission to the premiere is $20.00. For admission to the screening and the reception, the ticket price is $45.00.
