Film Making Process

Hello everyone,

I've been making documentaries for about a year now, for the National Trust, Royal Photographic Society and Boomsatsuma. So I'm fairly good at organizing and the technical side of film making.

Anyway I'm making my first short film so far i've:

Confirmed a location
Wrote the script
Story-boarded
Organized audition days.

Anyway I'm at a bit of a loose end, I'm not to sure where to go from here. What I'm really looking for is just the steps i need to take from here to production.

Thanks very much,

Sam

Read through the screenplay
See if you can eliminate some useless props to bring down the cost.
Write out wardrobe and props and everything that will cost u $$$.
Get that money
Get the props.
Make a preliminary scheduling.
Find crew and cast
Get wardrobe
Adjust preliminary schedule into a production schedule.
Create shot list.
Spin off into the production!

Identify the final product's target market demographic.
Tailor to screenplay to maximize appeal to that audience.
Investigate and identify the distribution points/vendors/venues/festivals you believe your short will LIKELY be seen by your target audience.
Identify how you will promote your short film after it's completed, then start promoting it before you even begin.
