Files Convertor to final cut

Hi guys,

I do not know if there is any old thread regarding files convertor to final cut for mac. But i would like to ask if there is any free software to convert mts/m2ts files to formats that is compatible for final cut express hd which will not cause any audio loss or affects visual quality. Appreciate it.

Do the .mts files load in Quicktime? If so, buy a Quicktime Pro license from Apple (was $30 last I checked). You'll also need to install Quicktime 7 from your OS X install disks because Apple made some brain-damaged decision to not have Quicktime X have any pro features.

(Apple is starting to worry me with it's recent Microsoft-like decision-making behavior.)

You will then be able to export the video files to any codec supported by Quicktime. For editing, I recommend one of the ProRes ones.
