editing external speakers for MacBook?

Was curious which make, model and flavor you prefer for external speakers. These would be for my MacBook, mostly for editing and monitoring, not a ton of sound sweetening, but some. Under $150 would be ideal.

I've had a pair of Cambridge SoundWorks speakers for years that I'm using on my PC and they have served me well. Stick with that brand? Any thoughts? Thanks!

To be 100% honest I only know them by reputation, not personal experience, with the exception of the KRKs.

Cool. And the reason I asked is those speakers I have are 11 years old. Figured by now there could be another brand worth trying out that doesn't cost a small fortune and sound just as good, but I'm guessing speaker technology hasn't changed much in the last decade. Anyhoo, thanks.
