Director seeking a co-writer for feature

Hello

My name is Michael Stevantoni and I am a director Shooting my first feature film next July.
I've been working on an idea for a number of months based on a collection of short stories titled "Salton Sea" by George McCormick. I've combined elements from each story into one narrative, wrote a treatment, and began the script.
Throughout this process however I've found that I lack confidence as a writer and don't have skill to bring it to life in the way I believe it deserves. I can communicate my ideas to a cinematographer but shouldn't be the one shooting it. That's kind of how I've come to feel about writing, and I'm looking for someone to help bring out all the potential in the story. Help flush out the characters and scenes, work on dialogue and bring fresh eyes to the story.
Set in a small desert town during the 2002 Beltway Sniper shootings. Brian has been offered a job managing a chain restaurant in Washington DC. His wife Ramona is reluctant to make such a move and is even more opposed to his ideas of using the opportunity to start a family. Their relationship becomes strained and is only made worse by Brian's growing paranoia, brought on by Sniper coverage in the media. This ultimately leads them to take a desperate trip to the Salton Sea, a faded seaside resort destination, where only a year ago they honeymooned.
I'm very inspired by the films Paris Texas and Stranger than Paradise and would love to capture something similar to what those films offer.
If you are at all interested I'd love to share the treatment with you and we can have a chat about our ideas and share some of our past work. I'm not expecting someone to write this for me, just collaborate to make something special.
Just to give you an idea of my timeline, it is my hope that we can have form of first draft by the end of August.
If interested email me at mstevantoni@gmail.com

All the best,
Michael

Quick question. Have you secured the rights from McCormick or his publisher to adapt the stories to screen? You don't want to start down this road and then be blindsided by a copyright infringement order. I would be sure I have the permission before starting on the script. I don't mean to discourage you, just to be help ensure your project moves forward smoothly and safely.
