Different Watt bulb for light kit

Can I just buy multiple bulbs with different wattage & switch them out, depending on situations?

For ex, my Lowel Pro light cam with 500w bulb, can I put in 200w? or will that make the light warmer, screwing up the white balance?

You can put in any wattage bulb you want - up to the maximum for which the fixture is designed - as long as the bulb has the proper voltage rating and the base/contacts are consistent.

Putting in a lower wattage bulb should not affect the color temperature of the output unless there is something peculiar about that particular bulb.

Some folks use a dimmer rather than swapping bulbs. This technique DOES lower the color temp.

A third option is to purchase ND gels or "singles and doubles" (metal screens to cover the instrument face) to cut the brightness without having to swap out bulbs or screw up the color temp.
