Decisions, Decisions

So, I just pre-ordered a blackmagic pocket cam. I am in the process of buying more lenses for my GH2/BMPC combo. Right now I have around a $600 lens budget. Now, I was thinking of purchasing the Blackmagic 12mm but I also came across a Russian 10-100mm f2.5 constant zoom. It was built to cover Super16 which is the size of the BMPC sensor. What will also come in handy is the 10mm focal length which would help on the wide side of Super 16mm.

My question is, do you think the vintage Russian lens is worth the $600 I'll need to spend to buy it+adapt it? Or should I pursue other lenses?

You mean the backordered "SLR Magic" 12mm, not "Blackmagic 12mm" correct? :)

I would get the SLR Magic. The eBay listing for the Russian lens says 16mm, not Super 16, which could mean vignetting on your Pocket Cinema Camera.

I am in the same boat - limited resources and a Pocket Cinema Camera on-order, and even the least expensive S16 glass, like this $815 17-68mm f2.2 C mount Angenieux Zoom is out of my price range :(

Good luck!

Bill

Thanks a lot! And yes, I did mean the SLR Magic.
