Dark Dungeons movie kickstarter

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/295102457/rpgs-are-evil-dark-dungeons-the-movie

I rarely plug other projects (which is something I need to fix, particularly around here. Lots of awesome folks doing great stuff), but this one is near and dear to my heart, so I needed too share. It's a film version of the Jack Chick anti-D&D propaganda comic "Dark Dungeons". Anyone who grew up with RPGs in the 80s probably remembers the pop culture backlash. D&D is devil worship! The game makes you murder and commit suicide (probably in that order...doesn't work too well in the other). Crazy evangelical comic author Jack Chick put out a tract following that same line of thinking, which you can read online here: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.ASP

So, for gamers, that's a point of ironic joy. "I don't want to be Elfstar anymore!" will make most gamers giggle uncontrollably. The idea that D&D is the road to actual magic powers rather than excessive cheetos stains is laughable at best.

Obviously, the guy running this gets it. To quote from the FAQ:
What is your favorite type of comedy?
I really like Stephen Colbert and the Onion. When a comedian really knows his material and can present a situation that sounds pretty ludicrous but instead of just jumping up and down and saying, "I'm making fun of this!" he instead presents it completely straight-faced and in a serious manner while never breaking character, that is when true comedic genius can occur.

So, if you've played way too much D&D, have already watched The Gamers movies and have some extra cash, send it this guy's way. If you haven't played too much D&D, give me a call, we'll get a game going.
