Interesting.
Overtly, it looks like a variation of
BEASTLY which is fine and all.
Storywise, the premise of jealousy creating Hannah's growing marks is great. I like that idea a lot.
It does require some more setup, though.
Hannah & Jack chatting at a table, Jack's momentarily distracted by Lauren waking at a distance, he leaves, Lauren places the first mark on Hannah, and it's all downhill from there is 8/10 of a story.
Fine, but "almost" there.
She's awfully complacent about her growing issue.
The shot compositions are fairly well done.
The handheld cam work could benefit from a little more
stabilization.
I agree it looks better shot off the tripod, just tone down the shaky.
You did a good job with the 180° rule at the into conversation.
Color is kinda all over the place. I'm pretty sure FCE will let you adjust that scene to scene.
After being "marked" Hannah's fair skin didn't appreciate whatever tool or medium you guys were using. Her skin turns an unpleasant red around it. But maybe that was redness from abrasive attempts to remove the marks from previous takes?
I dunno, but it doesn't look deliberate.
And FWIW, the hear beat focus jump thingie wasn't working for me.
I would like to know how the vertical compression upload error happened just so that I can avoid that myself, though.
All in all, with a more detailed plan of story I kinda like the premise a fairly good bit.
