Copyright of websites?

I'm curious what the issue is with using websites in a movie? Like having the person using google or yahoo or any number of various websites?

Hmm, kinda short question, but that was all I'm curious about .... so... here is a text vampire face to help add some more valuable content to this post! -,.,- /Rawr

Well firstly, copyright exists in most (all?) original written material (even this post :)) so there's potential copyright issues - secondly, things like logos (for example, the way Google writes 'Google') are frequently trademarks (registered or otherwise) and you need permission to reproduce these.

There's no reason filmmakers couldn't show them but they would need permission (= $$$ or some other arrangement). Also, on a more petty note, a lot of the big studios don't like Google very much :)

Like the vampire face btw :) haven't seen that before!

You can use my website! :D

But seriously website copyright is something i'm big into at the moment because some woman has stolen by website's name for her website (which is exactly the same concept as mine)...grrr....
