Color correction help :(

I searched the forums before I posted, and found plenty of ways to adjust the color of my footage, but, the only problem is that I dont have a Mac, and the one program alot of you posted works wonders is for a Mac. I'm not sure what to do. I read the topic where someone posted an article that compared raw video from "Transporter 2" and then its finalized version, but that still didn't give me a program to use. Keep in mind I'm 18 years old and have hardly no money to my name.

I've already posted videos on the internet. Mainly, my website RUNHOMESTUDIOS.COM; a comedy site. But, as you can tell from the videos, the color could be better. Anything?

Zach, can you be more specific about what you're trying to achieve? Do you wish to color correct it so it looks correct? Or are you looking for more sophisticated adjustments for special effect?

Also, what are you using for editing?

Red Giant make a little plugin Called Colorista... and they also have some tutorials on how to use it.

It's not expensive $199 (well in comparison to other pieces of software) ... and it works in Premiere Pro (which is editing software for PC's.

If you're using some other software, like Vegas... then you need to do a google search for "Color Corrections Plugin Sony Vegas"... or find a user forum for the software you use for editing and ask them.

Vegas has a color corrector in it. You can use that to balance your clips to a point...keep in mind that it's destructive and will degrade your footage (not the originals, but the resulting clips can get a bit soft). Making the clips match is called "Primary Color Correction", after that, applying effects to make a sequence (or just a clip) more stylized, like the transporter example, is "Secondary Correction".

Ideally, you'll be really careful to get consistent footage on set though. Anything you do to the footage in post degrades it.

If your using vegas, just go to the FX and there are many options you can use to spice up your footage. Usually i wont do color correction in the editing program, usually ill do it in After Effects, but if you cant i suggest using the Curves in Vegas, and possibly try playing around with the Color Corector 1 and 2 on Vegas.
