Colleges?

Has anyone had any luck setting up screenings at colleges? I remember at my old university they brought in a couple of former students to speak and show their film - how would one go about setting this up? Who's the contact point usually? Any sample letters that you may have used if you've done this? I just dont want to come off sounding unsure or like I've never done this before.
Has anyone had any luck with this venue? Make any good contacts or get any good networking/financiers out of it?

I personally have not done this, but my friend premiered his first feature at the local college and is going to be doing so in the surrounding colleges as well as some around the country.

I would say your point of entry would be the student affairs department, or there is usually a student activities board made of student workers. They are always looking for ways to entertain their students, so i'm surprised this isn't done more often.
