Car crash aftermath

I'm sorry... I couldn't find a better place to put this, so I put it here even though I feel like it doesn't belong.

I'm filming a PSA for a scholarship competition, and the way it plays out in my mind is I need some shots of the aftermath a car crash. That means the cars have to look like they've been, ya know, crashed. I just don't want to actually crash them, so do you guys have any idea how I can make this happen on a low budget? Perhaps with props and/or after effects?

I am pretty sure you can get some old crashed/half broken car reall cheap, depends on what exactly do you want?

Or you can get away with showing like a tire rolling away some broken glass on the floor some smoke etc. Find a creative way to tell what you can't show

@baoliun: yeah I'll probably have to get creative if I can't figure out how to do this, but I really want a shot of some body damage to the car.

@baba: yeah I looked at those, but I need to show the after math and not the actual crash.

Your biggest "challenge" is where the crashed cars are located. If it doesn't matter where the "aftermath" is it makes your job a lot easier. There should be a "junk" yard somewhere nearby where you can get (or at least shoot) a crashed car. Law enforcement (police, sheriff, state cops, etc.) could be helpful as you are shooting a PSA; they have a yard somewhere that they stash crashed cars. You could also try the local news for archive footage of crashes.

Oh, how crashed do you want it? Like this?
