canon HD10 computer acces

Hi
i just got a camera but i can not view my casette recording on the computer.I have Ulead working. I just shooted a try with the camera and watched it on the camera itself but no ability on computer for a quick editing try or a view.
what should i do?

It looks like the HV10 is a miniDV camera with a Firewire port. Get a Firewire cable from your electronics store (they usually don't come with the camera) and connect it to your Firewire input on your computer. You shouldn't need a TV card -- just a Firewire port. NOTE -- firewire cables come with different size plugs, so you might want to take your camera to the store to be sure you match it to the right cable. If you don't have a firewire port on your PC, you can buy an interface that plugs in your mother board (PCI card) .

The port on the camera is a 4pin firewire jack, the computer side will either be a 4pin or 6pin (if you have one) if you don't have one, you'll need a firewire card.

(See picture in my post below)

Firewire is also known as iLink, and it's proper name IEEE1394 :)
