Can I get a 'picture' from FCP?

I'd like to know if it's possible to take a freeze frame from a clip in Final Cut Pro, and export it to my photo library on my mac?

I have made the picture a still/freeze frame from the clip, then tried to export it however, I don't get a prompt that would send me to my other folders...

anyone know if I could do this? How do you do it?

you can take a screen region shot (that's how I've been doing it) - shift, command, 4, then click - drag the crosshairs that the cursor turns into across the area you want to capture...when you let up on the mouse, it will produce a png on your desktop which you can drag to iPhoto.

make sure your viewer window is showing the video at 100% and highest quality preview to get the best results.

You can also do it by placing the cursor on the point in the timeline that you want to create a still of.

You then hit SHIFT N -- This will create a ten second default freeze frame which you can drag into a bin or export via Quicktime conversion -- where you select (STILL) from the pop-up format menu.

The only thing to remember if you then use the freeze frame back in the video that you'll need to apply the deinterlace effect.
