camcorder type: hard disk or flash drive?

I am considering in the near future getting a small consumer full HD camcorder, and some of the newer ones use only flash memory, no tape, no hard drive. Would that be better or worse than one that uses a hard disk and why or why not? What concerns me with flash memory storage is the potential for write errors. I have a Zoom H4 digital field recorder and I have encountered write (record) errors when recording, although to be fair I bought the cheapest SD memory card there was for it so I guess I got what I paid for. Maybe the internal flash storage of camcorders is very high quality to prevent write errors.

Don't quote me, but the newer technologies have better buffer abilities against the write errors. The only way to truly know is to wait and see what new users of the new cameras are saying. From what I hear the panasonic cameras using the cards are solid. Canon's new cameras that have just come out look pretty promising but nobody knows anything until people who are using them speak. We'll have to see what happens. I have my eye on the VIXIA HF10 and another 16gb card is only $75!

This might be a good B or extreme field camera. Size of a burrito! It's low light ability is TBD.
