calling all budding film directors!

Hey everyone, I'm Ria. Really nice to meet you all.

I want to tell you about the new Nokia MiniMO competition. I'll be managing the community and updating the blog. Up for grabs is a four day trip for two to the Cannes Advertising Festival, a director's kit worth £1,300, Empire movie subscriptions and more.

The challenge: recreate your favourite film on your mobile. Perhaps you've an idea for a new scene, or you fancy a crack at reshooting the original? Then this could be right up your street. You have until June 9th to submit your masterpiece.

In conjunction with the competition, Nokia and MOFILM have hooked up to run filmmaking workshops across the UK. The sessions are free, so book a place on the Nokia UK Facebook page.

We're also running weekly competitions to help your celluloid adventure come to life. A gang of 50 extras or a van load of props could be yours. This week's prize is a director's chair with your name on it, so check out the Nokia MiniMO blog and @Nokia_UK tweets for info on entering.

We'd love it if you got involved and showed off your movie making talents. The Nokia MiniMO site will tell you all you need to know. If you've got any questions, then just pop them up here or email me on ria@nokiaminimo.com, and I'll do my best to help you out.

Cheers everyone :)

Ria

It's not tickets to the Cannes Film Festival, but the Cannes Advertising Festival, in June. I think I'd rather have expired tickets to a Cannes Film Festival that has already happened.

Cell Phone Fest

There was something similiar at www.CenturyCityCellPhoneFest.com

Nokia MimiMO comp

Hey guys, the competition has been aimed particularly at students and young people who are wanting to explore the possibilities of creating films for brands, as well as the feature film side of things. The workshops run in conjunction this week have been hosted by the guys from MOFILM and Shooting People, and have been a great success. I'm hoping that we'll see some really talented filmmakers coming through - could be their chance to get their work in front of some industry experts and maybe it will be their big break! Cheers, Ria

Really? Then no one would get to see your submission. There's still a great opportunity to have your work seen by some of the industry's biggest names, plus there's a chance (still tbc!) that a producer from Avatar will be amongst the judges.
