Call For Entries - The Chicago "Really" Short Film Fest

<<< CALL FOR ENTRIES >>>

Maia Entertainment presents...

The Chicago "Really" Short Film Fest

...coming May 7th 2005 hosted by The Abbey
Pub (3420 W. Grace Chicago, Il 60618).

The title is long but the fest won't be. Unlike most
film festivals that last weeks, one week, or one
weekend, we are hosting a one night event, short and
sweet.

The Chicago “Really” Short Film Fest was conceived as
a way to get those “really” short films (15 minutes
and under) out to the public in an open and
entertaining atmosphere.

Come out for a night of food, beer, live music, live
performance by a sketch comedy group, and of course
the short film fest. All you have to do is show up,
have a good time with friends, and enjoy the night.

If you want to submit your short film to the fest you
can do so now. Our deadline is April 1st. Submission fee
is $15. Details on how to submit your film and all other
information about the fest can be found on are our website.

Thank you for the welcome!

I'm new around here as you can see. Hopefully some filmmakers get to check out the fest. It'll be a good time.

Hey Everyone,

For those of you that are interested...

We have a few announcements for the fest.

Making a return to this years fest will be the good folks at Image Union and Chicago film critic Erik Childress.

Image Union is longest-running independent film and video showcase in America. Since 1978, this Emmy Award-winning series has featured an eclectic mix of short films and tapes - everything from animation and documentaries to narratives and experimental films. Some of the work is by promising new filmmakers, some by established award-winning artists.

Erik Childress writes for eFilmCritic.com and has been a member of the Online Film Critics Society since February 2000 and also became the first online writer inducted into the Chicago Film Critics Association alongside such names as Roger Ebert, Michael Wilmington, and Dann Gire.

Erik is a regular guest on the Sunday night Nick Digilio show to finish up the movie discussion with Nick (WGN 720 AM in Chicago, 11-3 AM Fri, 12-4 AM Sat, 12-2 AM Sun). He is also on to discuss impending awards, top ten lists, new articles, etc...)

Plus we have signed on "The Patel Leads" with Molly Hale and Bryan Irzyk to the fest. Their show is not only funny but very entertaining.
