ClipAward addresses independent filmmakers who work under low & no-budget conditions. The festival offers a platform and a network to promote their short films, thus making them accessible to a wider public. Today’s highly advanced digital recording and film processing technology brings about a variety of new opportunities for nearly everybody to try out his or her filmic talent. A new generation of filmmakers takes advantage of the constantly decreasing production costs and realizes short movies that are formally developed and sophisticated in content, being far from inferior to professional/commercial productions. Rather, the financial constraints set free the creative potentials of filmmakers and yield astonishing results. From absurd to documental, from humorous to thoughtful – extraordinary filmic moments will be awaiting the festival audience from March 18 to 20, 2011.
Being a low & no-budget short film festival, ClipAward exclusively appeals to filmmakers who produce shorts without the infrastructure of film academies and the financial support of funding agencies.
Send us your short features, animations, trash movies, documentaries, music videos, etc. We bring everything on screen that’s freaky, crafty, slick, hard-boiled, and witty! Anything is allowed – as long as it’s short and cheap!
The only conditions: 1) the productions costs may not exceed 500€ per minute, 2) the maximum length is 13 minutes, and 3) the shorts have to be subtitled in German/English.
