Is there a good resource for basic boilerplate contracts for music/filmscores? I'm rather early in my career, though I have a couple big (for me) projects impending. While negotiating my work, I'd like to be sort of prepared, and get rights and such confirmed in writing. So far, I've worked with some pretty ethical directors. If there is money to be had, they usually steer a little my way. There have been others who have given me some money up front. Everything has been on a verbal agreement that I can use their films for my portfolio, and I maintain the rights to the music if I want to, for example, reuse the pieces for music licensing sites, etc. This has been fine, and I've certainly felt "safe" on the scale I've been working on. I don't want to come off as pushy or paranoid, but I would also like to cover myself, especially on bigger projects.
