Tried the battery grip for the Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro... and wow — it’s a game changer and a buzzkill at the same time. On the plus side, you get 3x the battery power which is amazing for longer shoots. No more scrambling for fresh batteries mid-scene. But here’s the trade-off: it makes the camera feel super heavy and clunky. Like… handheld just isn’t the same anymore. The whole vibe shifts.
Is it just me, or does anyone else prefer to keep their rig as light and simple as possible? Would you ever shoot handheld with the battery grip on? Or is this more of a “put it on sticks and let it live there” kind of setup?
