Hey guys.
I`ve been starting to move up to being assistant editor on narrative features using 8 channels of production sound running at a time. (Past experience is primarily in documentaries).
For those with prior experience, when working with a larger amount of tracks in a narrative Avid timeline, how do you tend to organize your audio tracks?
I had been thinking of this sort of layout:
A1 – A16 = Dialogue/VO/Production sound)
A17 – A18 = Room Tone
A19 – A20 = temp SFX, gun shots, door slams, etc
A21 - A22 = Music
I have tried to keep the track amount down as much as possible, as Avid can only monitor 16 tracks at a time, although the sequence can hold up to 24.
Thanks in advance.
