Hey all I would be extremely greatful if anyone could help. In about 3-4 weeks I will be installing Avid. Can anyone with experience just tell me any pitfalls to look out for when installing; recognising capture card; video source etc. Any info would be great.

Any other general recommendations/tips with Avid would also be greatly appreciated.

Need a lot of ram- 1 gig is the minimum when using XP. Don't know on the apple side but ram is still an issue with Avid. Also having your data on another separate drive and not on your OS drive or you will experience slow render times and more chances for crashes. Try to SATA if you can.
