Any good tips for workshop practice?

Hi there! Does anyone got some good examples on creative workshop practices? Im going to hold it for 10 teenagers. thanks

To practice directing, you can always use an "open" script, so they can practice creating character and you can work on communication.

ACTOR 1
What's that?

ACTOR 2
What?

ACTOR1
That!

ACTOR 2
Nothing

This is "open" because the actors create everything. The object is to make it obvious what the "thing" is without changing a single word of dialogue. They can improvise the scene as a drama, comedy or whatever, but they can't change the words or they are cheating.

Let the actors perform it once, then give direction. Ask them to change this or that, and try to work within their scene to create a synergy between actors and director. I recommend this as prep for a 48 Hour Film Project because you don't have a script but can still rehearse.

the theme of the workshop is "create a film/doc in two weeks". As the kids are filming for the first time, Im going to teach them the basics in using the camera, lights, Audio, narrative structure, directing and so on.

Thank you Sonnyboo for the excellent practice for directing. as I am documentary filmer I'm not that good in directing fiction, so I really appreciate this practice example.

This is the first time im holding a workshop so it will be interesting to see how everything will work out. some of the kids got ADD diagnosis so I suppose it's important to have lectures with focus on practical and fun practices and not too much on the theory... anyone got some more advices/tips?
