Announcing Kinofilm Festival / Late Call For Entries

KINOFILM, 9TH MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
22nd – 27TH FEBRUARY 2005

We are pleased to announce that Kino is back and ready to confirm its place as the UK’s premiere short film festival!

After almost a decade of coordinating Film Festivals, Touring Programmes, Screenings, and Special Events, Kino’s experience and expertise is unrivalled; it’s commitment to continued innovation and the discovery of challenging new talent are unparalleled. Kino was a major player in the development of a popular audience for the short film, and remains at the very forefront in seeking out the brightest, the best, the most startling and original short films both nationally and internationally.

This year Kino will be returning with revitalized old favorites, such as our eminent Kino Latino, BlueFiRe!, Made Up North, Animation, Inspired By The Medium, Student, and Going Underground Programmes, and will be introducing some exciting new themed programmes (such as Neurotic Tales, Weird Tales, and Kino Extreme). This year the festival alluringly promises a championing of local and emerging filmmaking talent blended with a celebration of the recognition that short film has recently received in the wider industry.

As one of the leading International Short Film Festivals in Europe, Kinofilm is an event that anyone even remotely interested in film should have firmly marked in their diary.

Late Call For Entries

KINOFILM Special Call FOR Entries

As part of the 9th Kinofilm Festival 22nd - 27th February, Kino are holding two special showcase events for North West based film makers to screen their work to an invited audience..

1. "Recently completed shorts and documentaries"
This event will provide a platform for your recently completed film as a showcase for directors, producers, cast and crew. We are looking for about six short films for this event at which if successful, you will be invited to a question and answer session with other film makers and industry professionals.

If your film is not quite finished but have a trailer of a film currently in production or post production, which you would like the opportunity to screen to an audience to gain valuable feedback, then you can submit this to the event also.

This special programme as part of our North West focus will be followed by a networking event for all concerned.

2. "Youth and Community Film"
We are looking for films made by young people in the community. This is an opportunity to screen recently completed work that has either been made as part of a community project or with a group of young people in a community setting. The film could be a short drama, animation or documentary.

Please note, there is a very tight deadline on submissions for both these events. Please email the festival director, John Wojowski, with details of your film as soon as possible. DEADLINE is FRIDAY 14th JANUARY.
