I have changed the footage into black and white. Now imagine you have a magic wand and when you point onto an object it would become coloured. How would you achieve this. So far ive rotoscoped the object and coloured the object but i want the object to get colour gradually. You know, like a gradient (ramp) from the middle of the object. Thanks.

Once rotoscoped, I think you would have to duplicate the object layer. Make one black and white, and the other color. Make sure the b&w layer os above the color layer. Then key frame the transparency property of the B&W layer to go from 100 to 0 over the amount of time you want it to take. This should turn the object from B&W to color.
Yeah agreed agreed with this, at least make it expand a little rather than just a boring cross dissolve.
