Activision Blizzard, maker of the Call of Duty video game, announced it will make original films and TV series.

The newly formed Activision Blizzard Studios will base the shows and movies on the company's games.

George Lucas branched from film to animation and games, but this company has gone from games to film and TV. I'm going to be watching this.
 
This certainly isn't the first case of a major game studio getting into film making.

Ubisoft Entertainment created Ubisoft Motion Pictures a few years ago and have a long line of projects in development. The most exciting of which of course is Assassin's Creed with Michael Fassbender.

Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Splinter Cell: Ghost Recon, Rabbids Invasion TV Show, Raving Rabbids, and WATCH_DOGS.
