With Sword and Head Held High is an upcoming skateboarding film which chronicles an adventurous and prosperous day on four wheels in the lives of Norwegian skateboarders Sven Vaaga and Morten Bakken.

Criticism and/or praise of the constructive kind would be a delight to receive by my fellow forum members.

Also; Hi i´m new here :)

Hey, welcome!

I liked what I saw, but have a question. What did it cost to license a Queen song for this video? Also, I'm planning to use the best skateboard shots from your released film in my film against skateboarding. Thanks for doing the work for free and having an open attitude toward piracy making my dream of making skateboarding illegal worldwide possible.

You see the problem. right? ;) Sorry for the heavy message, but you need to re-evaluate your acceptance of piracy as acceptable.

I find it utterly terrific that you enjoyed what you saw.

I thought the crime I committed would be in relation to licencing issues, not Piracy? I will in no way attempt to defend the fact that I in no way possess any legal right to use any of Queen's discography in my projects and I fully acknowledge that you are speaking nothing but the truth.

Perhaps this may come across as a rather weak argument, but using pre existing songs in motion picture skateboarding comes with the territory. It is a staple of the skateboarding film genre to heighten the energy of the picture with a fitting soundtrack.

A soundtrack consisting solely of the sound of the skater and his enviorment would probably not make a very engaging and immersive experience to watch. Especially in a high intensity trailer like this one that changes up the image every 22 frames, I think you really do need that rythmn to drive the film.

Skateboarding and a lively tune really are a match made in heaven.

I am of course very aware of when or not I can pull of having a pre exising song in the soundtrack of my film. I would never consider to illegally include a song in a proffesional project of mine. In a film making practice exercise like this one it is for the greater good of the film.

Having piqued my curiosity, what did you find to be the best skateboarding shots in the film?

The message of the film is naturally anti skateboarding as well. Watch it repeatedly and you'll discover numerous subtle clues that reveal my true intentions. First and foremost the common knowledge that any Queen song will of course reveal an anti skateboadring messeage if the song is played backwards. We should release both our films as companion pieces.
