A Decent Mic?

Hi,
I've been looking at some decent budget mics for my short films. I have been looking at the Rode Videomic and also the Azden SGM-1x/SGM-2x. Does anyone have any experience on these mics and their quality? I am shooting outside and inside so It would need to be able to withstand some wind (ofcourse a deadcat could do that). If anyone has one of these mics and can tell me you're experience with them.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks,
Director T

SO...

What should I consider for a microphone:huh:? I am going to use a boom pole. Any suggestions that is in a $150-$350 budget? Also- if you have actually owned and used a Rode Videomic or a Azden SGM-1X/SGM-2X could you please comment and put a brief reviewf. Thanks.

Like I said, I've used, though not owned, the Azden mics and was disappointed. I know the Rode VideoMic by reputation having attempted to work dialog recorded with it - it was a nightmare.

Even decent quality budget mics are going to cost you. My recommendation would be the Rode NTG-2, about $275 (other than the VideoMic Rode makes some pretty nice stuff aimed at the budget market).
