CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS!
We're looking for original short films to showcase in our Year 3 Festival.
BASIC HISTORY OF THE FESTIVAL:
With the knowledge that arts and cultural events can help a town thrive, the Roslyn Film Festival was started in March of 2007 as part of a revitalization plan for the Roslyn, PA community in March 2007. The event is held every year at the Roslyn Firehouse as a benefit for the volunteer firefighters.
The format has been consistent. Independent filmmakers—both local and from other cities and states, have submitted film shorts. A panel of judges reviewed the films for content, length, and entertainment value, ultimately selecting fewer than one dozen films to be screened the night of the event. There, the audience is given ballots to choose their favorite film, with trophies and prizes awarded to the top three. (Please note...there is NO CASH PRIZE). Starting in 2008 the newest addition to our film festival was a televised red carpet stroll.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW IF YOU WANT TO SUBMIT A FILM:
In order to qualify for consideration as part of the film festival, entries must not exceed 30 minutes in length (including credits), and must be received no later than March 1, 2009. Entry fees are based on submission date, so it benefits you to submit early!
Movies must be sent in DVD Format and include all contact information written legibly on the disc itself. Due to the number of submissions received, we can't guarantee the DVD won't be separated from the sleeve in which it is sent! No nudity or language that may be considered unsuitable for all ages. (Though we consider this event to be rated PG-13, younger audience members may also be in attendance with their parents.)
Please note that submission of films and entry fee does not guarantee that your film will be shown. Due to event time restrictions, all films will be viewed by preliminary judges and only the top films will be shown. You will receive notification if your film is selected prior to the event.
OTHER INFORMATION:

$15.00 entry fee per film if received by Feb 1, 2009 ($5 for each additional film title)
$25.00 entry fee per film if received between Feb 2 and Mar 1, 2009
