32nd Flanders Film Fest - Belgium (11-22 October 2005)

The 32nd Flanders International Film Festival-Ghent is scheduled
October 11th to 22nd 2005. The deadline for applications is August 10th
2005.

The festival, which started in 1974 as a student's film festival, has
developed into one of Europe's foremost film events. Every year in
October it presents some 190 feature films and 100 shorts from all over
the world in various sections to an audience of some 100,000
spectators. The Flanders Film Festival is recognised by the IFFPA as a
competitive festival, focusing on "The Impact of Music on Film" at
which some 15 films compete for four prizes. Next edition will be the
21st consecutive year the festival organises this competition. The
competing films are viewed by an international jury which will pick out
four films for following prizes:

* The Grand Prix for the Best Film
* The George Delerue Award for Best Music (or Best Application of
Music)
* The Sabam Prize for Best Screenplay
* The Robert Wise Award for Best Director

The 32nd Flanders International Film Festival-Ghent will once again
include a wide choice of films from all over the world, mainly focusing
on fiction films (long and short) and, to a lesser extent, to
documentary (long and short). Animation is also included. The festival
presents films in 16, 35, 70mm and PAL Betacam SP or Digital). Sep/mag
prints are - for technical reasons - not accepted.

Submissions are welcome until 10 August 2005. All we need is a viewing
tape (DVD, CD-Rom or VHS Pal or NTSC) accompanied by documentation of
the film (pressbook, some B/W stills, reviews, if any and a director's
biography) (Flanders International Film Festival - Ghent, Leeuwstraat
40b, B-9000 Ghent, Belgium). An entry form is not necessary at this
stage. These materials will be returned after viewing at your expense.
If the tape does not need to be returned, it will be erased.

A letter stating the programme committee's decision on the film's entry
for the festival programme will be sent within 4 weeks after receipt of
your tape. If the film is invited we will send all necessary documents
such as the entry form.

The entry of a film implies knowledge and acceptance of the regulations
approved by The International Federation of Film Producers Associations
(IFFPA). Rules and regulations can be found on our website at:
