24fps: how fast really?

What is the shutter speed when shooting with 24 frames/sec? I know with digital you can set the shutter speed manually, but what about film cameras? 1/24th sec?.. Depend on camera?

1/48th is standard for most cases. Anything other than that would be a chosen "effect" as it changes how motion is captured to film/digital. Doing a search for shutter will probably get you huge discussions about this specific topic on the board.
