Being filmmakers ourselves, we wanted the opportunity to showcase Independent Film in a festival environment that embodies the original idea of allowing all Independent Films to be judged equally and given a fair shot.
As Pacific Grove's only festival dedicated solely to Cinema art, The Monarch Film Festival's mission is to be a catalyst for greater appreciation of Cinema as art, build the local filmmaking community and work with Hollywood and independent film makers alike to showcase Northern California as a dynamic place to shoot and screen movies.
This years festival will take place in Mid November. Awards and acknowledgments for Best Feature Narrative, Best Short Narrative, Best Student Narrative, and the Best Student Short will be awarded at the festival. Winners will be awarded the Monarch Trophy in their respective categories, festival winner status as well as gifts.
