The greatest thing about these kind of urban legends/found footage movies is that you can get away with a small budget and not the most expensive of equipment, while maintaining the grittyness of underground cinema.

I actually can't stand found footage movies. I would say only 20% of this movie is found footage. The rest is really cinematic.
