The 10th Annual Austin Film Festival will be honoring two screenwriting greats:
FRANK PIERSON -- DISTINGUISHED SCREENWRITER AWARD 2003
Writer/Director/Producer and President of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, whose credits include Presumed Innocent, the Oscar winning Original Screenplay Dog Day Afternoon, the Oscar nominated Screenplays Cool Hand Luke and Cat Ballou, the Emmy nominated "Conspiracy" and "Citizen Cohn," and most recently Showtime's "A Soldier's Girl."
TOM FONTANA -- OUTSTANDING TELEVISION AWARD 2003
Writer/Producer/Creator, whose credits include creating HBO’s prison drama “OZ” and writing the Emmy Award winning television series "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "St. Elsewhere," the Emmy nominated television movies "Homicide: The Movie" and "America: A Tribute to Heroes," and most recently the upcoming "Strip Search."
