tv TV You Wish Wasn't Cancelled

I too miss Leverage but even more, I miss Veronica Mars, which ran for 3 seasons before the writer wanted to move the setting from a college campus to the FBI... and the fourth season didn't happen. Years later, a fourth season did happen as well as a movie, but they didn't quite live up to the...

misc How do I show frustration?

Banging his/her head on the wall is the ultimate show of frustration, IMO. Also staring with incredulous disbelief at the source of the frustration.

Completed Low Budget Feature Script: Benito the Blade

Best wishes to you on your new project!!! You, soon: :director: Us, later::pop: Thank you for your comment. I'm a writer, not a filmmaker, so I'm seeking filmmakers, not funding. Writing fiction is my passion and there are so many interesting tales to tell. I don't think I have a genre. My...

    dialogue Thoughts on VO narration?

Did any of them say why they didn't like it? I think VOs require a little extra concentration from the reader, can seem to interrupt the flow of the visible characters' dialog, and can seem abrupt until you see the film. The reader will hopefully make the effort to figure out why there are VOs...

    budget Budget Questions

Oops, that's weird. I guess you could search for "Film Courage" and "J Horton." J Horton has his own YouTube channel too, but I like best his interviews by Film Courage.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

The last movie I saw is "Cry Macho," a beautiful story beautifully told. I'd give it an 8.

    action Action vs Parenthetical

Yes, this action line above is certainly much more visual than the parenthetical below.

    budget Budget Questions

Over on YouTube, I've been watching the channel Film Courage for a couple years, mostly regarding screenwriting. Recently I discovered Film Courage's videos interviewing J Horton, who has directed and produced several movies very fast and very low cost. He has a playlist of videos that are...

    story Maps of Meaning

What a fascinating thread! Jordan Peterson: I've watched 4 or 5 Jordan Peterson videos on YouTube. Way too often, he would start a sentence then go off on tangents, sometimes tangents of tangents, and never complete the thought in the first sentence fragment. One video seemed to be nothing but...

    critique Logline review

Just my opinion: I find the phrase "is tasked with" a bit awkward. The phrase "is ordered to" seems more natural, but of course only if it describes your plot correctly. Also, "destroying it" -- IMO that's weaker terminology than "killing it." I like the "disgraced soldier turned antipoaching...

critique NUBARIUM - 1/2 Hour Animated TV Pilot (Would Love Feedback!)

I kinda like your logline. Those three characters can be quite interesting if you can make them unique, distinct from other movie potheads and revenge-obsessed outsiders.

    action Action vs Parenthetical

When I read American Beauty, I was amazed to see Alan Ball's use of 3 or 4 parentheticals per page. Since then, I've been using them, though not so many as Alan. If the entering injured character is about to say something, I might write CHARACTER (enters...

Completed Low Budget Feature Script: Benito the Blade

Thank you, good to know. So Networking is the wrong place to mention a completed script?

logline Logline feedback for a drama, please and thank you

I suggest removing the last 3 words from your logline. If you can, I suggest add something that distinguishes your story from similar plots.

    dialogue Thoughts on VO narration?

I too like good VO. It can add depth and insight. I tend to drop the occasional VO into a flashback, another often disliked element of storytelling, lol.

Award-winning writer, new here at indietalk

The scripts I post are not produced (yet). So far, I've focused on feature-length spec scripts. I haven't written any series yet but I do have one in mind.

Award-winning writer, new here at indietalk

I just wrote a post in the Networking section about one of my scripts. I'll probably do the same for my other finished scripts. Is there a place here at indietalk to post full-length feature scripts?

New to IndieTalk, but not to Film!

Hi, Wow, you've got a lot of experience in the biz. Kudos! 👏 Are you looking for a new feature script to direct and/or produce?
