Slider with motor & motorized head pan&tilt. Fully programmable, multi-step shot.

Slider with motor & motorized head pan&tilt. Fully programmable, multi-step shot. Is there any cheap alternative to a Motorized Slider & Head System paired with an app, like Kessler motorized sliders&heads with kOS CineDrive? I saw somebody combine the Rhino EVO slider PRO with eMotimo...

Trying to find the name of a stabilizer

Hi guys, I am looking to find the name of a stabilizer I've seen in a video (think it was from NAB 2013-2015). It was basically a vest + arm + the thing itself, which looked like a ring. The closest thing I've come to see is this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdTn2Jez3eg BUT, it's...

Sincerity and compromise - on the matter of Screenwriting

Guys, I want to start promoting my page on facebook as I am going to launch my most ambitious narrative short film as of yet. But for you to like my page, I would like to offer screenwriters something in return on the forum here: https://vimeo.com/127701594 I just made this video public in...

Roto-effing-scoping, here's my number, save me maybe?

New results with a difference matte here. The difference matte works best so far, even though I still have to mask in the tie and trousers (probably because they are chromatically too close to the leaves and AE has issues differentiating). Now if you don't mind, please have a look at the...

watch Schrödinger - Finnish Short Film

So I guess you're not THAT wide open to reviews, critics and feedback as you say. But it does help you improve, on future projects if you choose to keep it in mind. Regardless of your defensive position, the sound is so important when making a film. The moment when she screamed while throwing...

What camera does Hollywood use in lowlight?

Let's assume the following scenario just to illustrate: A hollywood production needing a scene shot in a tight cave corridor. There simply isn't enough room to light it properly from any side, there's room only for an operator following behind with his camera rig. Hell, maybe it's so tight the...

What camera does Hollywood use in lowlight?

Hey, title pretty much sums it up. Let's say I have a film that is 30-40% during night time, under clear skies and such. The irony in my question is that I know Hollywood would light the crap out of it and then use something like an Arri. But I'm sure even they are restricted by different...

    Filmmaking is too damn expensive

There's actually a very interesting production detail regarding Nolan's The Following. That being, the guy channeled a lot of this 7000 budget into the first 8 minutes of audio in the film. He understood the importance of sound in filmmaking (what was the saying? "the moment there is something...

    Filmmaking is too damn expensive

That's about reasonable in my eyes too. I'd try to add 33% more just in case unexpected costs arise. Also, I don't necessarily want to start my own production company because that would take money too. I'd rather use that money for making an actual film. That's what I'm here for, or at least...

Roto-effing-scoping, here's my number, save me maybe?

Back with a new question, hope people are still reading in this thread. Remember how I said I'm afraid of my laptop running out of juice on me if I make the AE project too complex? Is it possible, and if so, I assume a good idea to render out only the keyed green screen footage and the...

No hard feelings in show business?

Tell him you like him rolled up in honey while wearing nothing but thong while wrestling then. Im sure he'll appreciate you being honest and upfront.

No hard feelings in show business?

Tell him that you like his skills, especially when he puts the effort in and that you'd like to use him in the future, but for now you went back to making a smaller project for the reasons you specified. And that in the future you'd like to use him on a bigger production instead. After this, ask...

Roto-effing-scoping, here's my number, save me maybe?

Guys, after all, the only question I'm left wondering is: Isn't path masking the tie and the feet on top of having done mattes just as much work as if I were to "simply" mask path everything from beginning to end? Speaking about irony with the last shots needing the most work, that is the irony...

    Filmmaking is too damn expensive

Well, they do make profits too on top of really being unique directors, that's where the trick was. I do recommend you to watch Oldboy by Chan Wook Park. Just give it go. If that isn't one of the best cases of balance between entertainment and personal touch I don't know what is.
