    do you have the plastic loop former and are you threating it correctly? it is totally enough to cut the head of the tape to a triangle top and slightly push it into the transport wheel... push the shutter button and see if it forms a correct loop. make sure to clean the gate with a brush.

    fantastic image quality? poor noise performance red channel slightly oversaturated images poor bitrate i think switching from t3i to a nikon d5200 was the best thing i ever did

    I would certainly not shoot in higher ISO if I have access to prober lighting equipment. post production does not improve the dynamic range of an already shot scene... from what I have experienced. I am confused when u write about shutter speed... I thought u are shooting video in digital? or...

    the camera is $81k according to http://www.abelcine.com/store/Classic-ARRI-ALEXA-Starter-Kit/ the beam splitter rig is $45k according to ebay.com and i was seriously just kidding... because the topic starter wrote "decent price", which didnt tell me too much about his/her actual budget.

    haha... yeah bm cinema camera is quite present for its price compared to the quality. i would take that over any available camcorder at any given time. But honestly arri alexa can shoot in a much higher resolution and framerate... so comparing it like that, is certainly not that easy :p

    i could not aggree on the statement about Steve Jobs destroyed the music industry. Do I really need to buy a whole CD/Album just because i like one song? And 20Cents is absurd... I don't know about others but on my iPad there is no song under 75Cents available. However i totally aggree with him...

    nikon d5300... it is probably the only one on the market. ...the d5200 is capable of 60fps too, but it is interlaced... ..well progressive is more on the money than interlaced, but i thought i might throw that in there. edit: and yes both @1080p

    Love stories are a must... and depending on what genre you are shooting the more or the less cheesy it has to be. In a horror it can be a light romance between two characters and in a drama it can be more intense. Love stories help binding the audience... also makes it easier to get involved...
