    Can't Think of Story Ideas

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I think I've got a "base" for a nice little short, so we'll see what my friend thinks of the idea. :)

Ya, I was thinking along those lines too. Thinking like that, I can usually get bursts of inspiration. Thanks for the tip!

    Can't Think of Story Ideas

Me and a friend were thinking of doing a short film this summer but, like thousands of other people can't quite seem to come up with a good, original idea for a story. We were talking about ways to come up with a plot (i.e, emotions, random items) but we really can't think of anything aside from...

Can I hook an iphone onto a tripod and steadicam?

How about when you film the dialogue scenes, you just switch roles with here so she takes care of audio, and you can take care of camera work?

Can I hook an iphone onto a tripod and steadicam?

An iPhone's iSight camera opens to a f/2.2 aperture.

Can I hook an iphone onto a tripod and steadicam?

You can buy f2.8 lenses that are relatively around $200-800 and look good. For know though, I would steer clear of the f1.4's.

Can I hook an iphone onto a tripod and steadicam?

To answer your question: Yes, f1.4 lenses are generally used for portrait shots where the camera is fixed in one position. It is basically unusable for anything else.

How big will you make it?

Definitely a hobby for me. For a while, I wanted to go to film school but decided thats not what I really want to spend my life pursuing/doing. Bottom line: Just for fun.

Best in-camera settings for shooting on the run?

Thanks for the reply WhiteOpus! I'll be using a/an Sony NEX-5N (it's a DSLR) with Plenty of UV and ND filters so framerate/shutterspeed shouldn't be an issue. For lenses, I'll be bringing a Sigma 30mm prime, a 55-210 tele, and the good ol' 18-55 kit lens. As far as picture styles go, I use a...

Best in-camera settings for shooting on the run?

Towards the end of the summer, me and my family will be traveling around Europe (England, France and Italy) on vacation, so I'll have some great opportunities to get some nice footage for a short film competition. The question is, I'm not entirely sure how to set up my camera for run-and-gun...

Being asked to use the Canon 5D for a shoot, questions.

Sounds like you're export settings are messed up, or just not in the right format for the type of video you're working with.

Sci Fi Film with Religious Allegories

I believe there is nothing good in anyone. At all. If we lose sight of history we'll just keep making the same mistakes humanity has been making forever.

Sci Fi Film with Religious Allegories

If we could know God's thoughts, he wouldn't be God. Reading his other quotes, it seems like Albert has a pretty warped perspective on who God is.

Question about color grading and eyes going black.

A couple of questions: 1. What kind of settings were you filming with in-camera? 2. Were you using natural light, or artificial? As cheeseandchallenge was saying, you could (technically), fix the eye color in post but it'll be more time consuming and it might just look a little weird...
