The current script I'm working on spans the entire life of the protagonist.
Is it essential that the theme of the story be present in every scene?
Is it wasted story telling if you are showing how the person got from one point to the next if doesnt incorporate the theme?
Thanks for any help!
I hear many people on here talk about using cheap lights you can buy at Home Depot or a hardware store. Can anyone tell me what lights in general they are refering to? Thanks guys
If I'm just making a very short short film to share with my friends on Facebook is it bad if I use music I do not own the rights to?

I'm looking at ND filters for the nifty fifty I'm picking up.

But what is a common filter to get for as far as how much light it blocks. I see all kinds on amazon from really dark to really light. Do I need more than one?
I'm shooting a sunrise with the Tokina 11-16mm lens on a T3i.
I am keeping the aperature at 50 and ISO at 200. So in order to not blow it out I have the f/stop cranked up to 18-20. Is this hurting the image?
Do I need a filter so I can shoot on a lower f/stop?
Thanks guys!!

Hey all, simple question. When shooting, is it common for all actors to wear some kind of basic makeup, like a foundation to reduce light from reflecting off of shiny skin or this something only done on a bigger budget films? Thanks!
