Yes, it's true that without sound a lot of famous fight scenes don't look so great anymore. I guess a fight scene is case where sound is not equal but more important than the image.

All your points are very good observations. I didn't notice the stiffness but now that you pointed it I realize it's obvious. Next step for me is to shoot a bunch of fight scenes until people find them bad ass. :) I'll post my tests here when they're ready. Thanks again!!

This was shot in 24p. The 7d does 1080p at 24fps and 30fps. Or 720p at 50fps or 60fps.

If you already have your lenses then the 7D is a good option. I would also recommend to get the rode video mic to get decent sound.

It's a pretty good camera but don't forget to budget for lenses too. It can get expensive quickly compared to a good little video camera like the HV40.

The shaky camera in the opening shot bothered a few people. If there's a Steadicam operator out there willing to help out on the next production he'll be more than welcome! :D

I'm a big fan of the Bourne trilogy. In The Bourne Ultimatum for example almost all shots are shoulder camera or simulated shoulder camera to keep the tension high during the whole movie. Even when they're talking in an office. But I think my opening shot is a bit too shaky. Halfway between what...
