Thanks guys! I like the portable DVD player, I think the biggest thing is framing like you said and also catching tiny things like if there are shadows or cables in the shot.

Hey this might be a dumb question, but the LCD screen on my HVX-200A just doesn't seem to be enough for my cinematographer to work with (he's misses the details sometimes because the screen is so small). I was browsing through monitors for cameras, but they're so incredibly expensive...are...

I also started out with Story, then moved on to Save the Cat!, Screenwriter's Bible and Writer's Journey - although none are as good as Robert McKee. The most important thing is story, forget about formatting for now - I spend a lot of time outlining now before I start, and working backwards...

I would also suggest having your auditions read their scenes using different adjustments to see if they have flexibility. That's a huge factor for me in choosing.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have an HVX200A and my cinematographer is saying his small hand-held photo-camera works better in low light...I guess we'll have to see.

Hi! I'm filming a scene at night of two people talking in a parked car in front of a house. Would anyone have suggestions on how to light this? I was thinking about small lights that I could gaffer tape to the dash, or maybe a small China ball if it could fit...I'm not real well-versed in...
