    archived-videos Thrown Down

Here is a trailer for my forthcoming no-budget indie drama, Thrown Down. The music is from the original score, composed for my film by Evan W. Bradley. http://youtu.be/6Vl095b1SZk The film should be completed by mid-July of this year.

Either get permission from Jeep, or hide the brand/logo. You can show the model/type of Jeep wording, just not the brand/logo. I went as far as replacing my GMC grill on my Yukon with an after-market one without the GMC logo ($50). I made no effort to hide the 'Yukon' wording on the back.

New Bentley Ad Shot entirely on iPhone 5S and looks damn good

Lol. Yeah, I know. I was referring to the aspect ratio in the Bentley Ad. It doesn't look like the same aspect ratio as my friends iPhone videos. It could just be my eyes. I am getting rather old.

New Bentley Ad Shot entirely on iPhone 5S and looks damn good

Question. Did they crop the image? All the iPhone videos my friends post (vertically, *sigh*) on Facebook are really tall/wide. I am curious if there is a setting on the iPhone that changes the aspect ratio, or weather you crop in post. Thanks.

tv Watching TV shows/movies and learning from them...

No matter how much tv and movies you watch, and how many books you read, you will only make good films if you have a crew that knows what they are doing, or a crew that will listen to what you ask them to do. Assuming YOU know what you are doing. You can watch a million TV shows and see how...

cinematography How much contrast is too much?

I have been working on my feature this evening and I can definitely concur with this! I just want to give up, it's so time consuming!

cinematography How much contrast is too much?

It works now. I think you could probably go further with the contrast. Also, I might not be understanding this right, but I am going through mine scene by scene to get the right look. If I applied one blanket setting to my whole timeline, some dark scenes would just be too dark. Forgive me if...

cinematography How much contrast is too much?

"This video is private. " I am just getting into this with my feature. It's the last thing to do and I've been putting it off. I have a character wearing all black in a scene and what stopped me upping the contrast was the point in which I started losing detail on the blacks.

cinematography How many cameras are filming at any one time in a movie?

When shooting with friends who are not actors, I would always try to shoot with two cameras. It really does make things easier. Better? No. Easier? Yes!

What inspires you to do this?

What inspires me to do this..? Those moments of sheer brilliance (though rare) and those moments when I successfully fix the horrendous ones (of which there are plenty).

    archived-videos The Pathway

Thanks. This was a combination of vanity and appealing to a specific contest and apart from the previously mentioned things, I did what I wanted and ticked the right boxes. I am okay with it. I am aiming for mass appeal with what I have in development. I totally want to exploit myself, the...

    Good-Bye Windows XP

I am cleaning up an old tower with XP on it for an elderly couple I know. They just want to look up the occasional thing on Google, receive the occasional email from their grand-kids and watch the occasional YouTube video. I'm thinking they will get a couple more years out of XP, at least...

editing Sound During Phone Call Scene

Thanks guys. So, it's just four times when the guy in the office where there isn't any interesting sound, speaks. So, I decided on putting the bar sounds through Cool Edit(!) and making them, according to the software, sound like they were coming from a telephone. The times where we see him in...

editing Sound During Phone Call Scene

Actually, that works really well to me. It's just when he's talking it's odd. I will try the telephone effect for the sound on his end and see what that sounds like...

editing Sound During Phone Call Scene

Ok. second question. There are three shots of the guy in his office where he isn't talking to her, should I have the sound from the bar playing over these shots? It's really quite a lot to think about for me! Lol.

editing Sound During Phone Call Scene

Simple question. I have a scene where a girl is sitting in a bar talking on her phone with a guy in his office at work. I want to put a song playing in the background at the bar, like it's on a jukebox. Do I cut this sound out every time the scene switches to the guy in the office, or do I...

    archived-videos The Pathway

Hi again, well, I suppose I should have been more specific and also, I was being lighthearted at the same time. "Lol". I have ONLY been commenting on this one particular film. All I have said is not my general attitude toward all of my filmmaking endeavors. I am just finishing up a...

    archived-videos The Pathway

Definitely got out there with this one. Drove a total of 300 miles to get those shots and that doesn't include the 300 miles from Laramie to Denver and back for the unuseable footage I shot, or the 300 miles from Laramie to Denver and back that my friend shot that was also unuseable. Lol. I cut...
