    External Microphone problem

I am using a friend's headset, it is a Cyber Acoustic AC-634. I am using my consumer camcorder, Canon hf200. I put the RED mic plug in the RED mic input of my camcorder. When I do so, towards the bottom right I see an icon that says (OFF/(microphone sign)). Then I figured out, that that is...

    External Microphone problem

Sorry for the confusion. I just want the microphone from the headset to pick up sounds. It has something to do with something turned OFF. I am using the headset as an external microphone to pick up sounds more clearly. I'm not sure why something is turned OFF on my consumer camera. Do you...

    External Microphone problem

Hi, I recently got a Canon hf200 camcorder and I really like the quality of it. However, when I borrowed a friend's headset to use as an external microphone and tried it out, it did not work, no sound came out of it. I read the instructor's manual on how to use an external mic, and it told me...

    Focusing Question

Hello, I've seen this shot where the camera focuses on a distant object, and then blurrs that object out and focuses on a very up close object. How do you create that effect? And do any of you use it, at any point? I'm not sure if it depends on what camera you have. I just recently got a...

    Amateur - what to film?

Maybe I'm not thinking about it hard enough, or maybe thinking about it too hard, but I am an amateur filmmaker who does not have a real story to film, but I really really want to get my hands on this. Has this happened to anyone at one point? What should I do? Thanks in advance.

    sorry if asked a lot....

I was thinking about buying that one. However, I'm leaning toward the Canon Hg20. It's really cheap too. Like $700 bucks.

    HD Camera Decisions...

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I just have a question to ask. I'm not a professional, but I plan on submitting my new films to film festivals. I'm wondering if I can get away with quality from a Canon HG20 camera (i'm looking into buying that one) It's HD but I know movies...

    HD Camera Decisions...

It may not be as advanced as all the other's your are talking about, but I'm thinking about buying a Canon Hg20. I know it's super simple, but I think it gets the job done if it's done right. It's really cheap too!

What you do to get ideas?

That's a good idea. Thanks. I mean, if the story is yours, you can make anything up. I have a thing to add. Whatever a situation you may have heard, read or saw, blow it out of proportion and exaggerate on that. Make it a bigger deal that it is....if that makes any sense..

Show off your synopsis and/or script

Hi writers, If you have a synopsis and/or script waiting for it to be produced, wait no longer. I am avidly looking for a short film to produce and direct. Your work will be credited and have to joy to see what you have created on the screen. Send me what you have, your ideas, your story, I...

distribution Getting your movie in the theaters

This is mainly talking about full-length films, not shorts, correct? I don't know if I'm right or not, but we're talking about distributing your film to a theater as an independent filmmaker, right? But isn't it different when you work in studios?

    AVCHD and Adobe premiere elements

Hi, I'm in the process of making a short film, and my uncle tells me that shooting with an AVCHD camera is really really difficult to edit on Adobe premier elements. I'm worried because I don't want it to be difficult. I just want to know, is it true that it's really hard to edit?

    Letus question (adapters)

I'm kind of new to all of this and I just have a few questions on some of the letus adapters. I know that people use the 35 adapters to get a higher quality picture, but exactly why do people use them? Who uses them? Thanks

    The Infamous WongFu: Camera?

I've seen some footage of what the Letus 35mm adapter can give, and it's really nice, but it is professional? Semi-professional? Who uses it?

    Camera Questions:

I have a camera question of my own: http://www.letusdirect.com/cart/letus35-ultimate.html This product is a Letus35 Ultimate. Is this 35mm digital?

    Professional Cameras

Okay, thanks. I have a few questions: Why do the big leagues use film over digital? There is 65 mm film? You can only rent this kind of equipment, or is it on sale somewhere? Thank you.
